by Teresa E. on I am a huge fan of Jimmy John's! I had it for the first time ever in Norman, OK over 5 years ago while visiting my husband on a business trip. We were both so excited when they opened a shop near Georgia Tech a few year ago. This particular Jimmy John's is especially great because it is right around the corner from my office and they deliver! I have had several different sandwhiches - the Peto, the Vito, the Vegi - all delicious. Almost weekly, I have this Jimmy John's deliver sandwiches for our work Lunch and Learn. They are always right on time and last week, managed to save the day, when we found out we had several extra people coming and I was able to order several more sandwiches which they delivered in under 15 minutes. by Vallie Steil on I am still hung over as I write this, Drue and I were suppose to "share" a pitcher of beer- but she didn't have ANY of it. I didn't eat dinner last night, unless you count the goldfish and beer at Vertigo which makes me feel even more awesome this morning! So hopefully this will make sense... I really love Polk Street, I live near it, there is an abundance of bars and restaurants/drunken eateries. Vertigo is one of my new favorite bars on Polk for the following reasons: -They give out goldfish during the happy hour! GOLD FISH! I LOVE GOLD FISH! -It has a smoking room (I don't smoke, but all of the smokers seemed REALLY excited about this.) -There is a dance floor! I now have some where to take my friends that is not SOMA when they come visit and want to get their dance moves on. -The happy hour is cool (although it does NOT start at 5 like Rateclub says- the Bar doesn't even open until 6pm!) a pitcher is 10 bucks! And Blue ribbon is only 2 bucks! Cheap is the way I roll folks! -1 star because the owner was 30 mins late opening and there were a bunch of Ratecluber's standing outside thirsty and sober! Who leaves us on a corner like common sober folk? We are Rateclub, we need alcohol! He could have at least offered us a free round for waiting!
