LUNCH Was so so anxious to try lunch at Middlesex after hearing/reading many good things about their menu. As an avid soup-eater, I was psyched that they had so many different types of soup on the menu, and couldn't wait to give one a try. For 12:30 on a Wednesday, they were reasonably busy but we were able to find a table for 2 easily. i will say, the low coffee table & bench type seating is unique, but also very challenging for diners...but once you get the hang of it you're fine. You just have to realize that both you and who you are dining with will drop food on yourself/thetable, etc. Drink orders were taken immediately upon sitting while we perused the menu...they have a really good selection of Sandwiches, Soups & Salads, and our waiter mentioned that their Burger is top notch too. They also have soup/sandwich & soup/salad pairings, which will be good on a day i'm a bit hungrier. I was really torn between the tomato bisque and the corn bisque, but ultimately went with the corn because i was intrigued by the cilantro oil. So, so glad I did. Even though it was a bisque, it wasn't heavy or super creamy...it was more puree like, very fresh with a ton of delicious corn & texture. It needed a bit of salt, but was light, smooth, and yumtastic. It comes served with crisps of bread that make for good dipping. i was super happy with my choice & will absolutely be back for more...fresh, light corn soup with tons of flavor that doesn't weigh you down with creaminess? yes please! My friend had one of their salads with grilled chicken, asiago, and stilton and he was really happy with it, too. We both saw multiple things on the menu that we would want to try when we go back, like the aforementioned burger, and the other soups & sandwiches. The prices here are totally reasonable...lunch for 2 including tip was under $20, which is great for a tasty sit down lunch. Middlesex, you're rocking my soup-loving world. See you again soon!

http://www.sixfeetunde.../ Wow - this place is great, just the kind of southern seafood I like. Who knew calamari tacos could be so freaking delish?! I love the way they do fried okra here. It's served in whole pieces - I've never seen that before, but YUM.. It's good.
