by Daniel N. on A cool, cozy dive with great porch seating in the heart of crackhead turnpike. Warning: you will be asked for change by homeless dudes if you sit almost anywhere on the porch. The food is pretty good; most of it is standard bar chow but the BBQ sandwich and hushpuppies are the winners of the bunch. Get there early on weekends or be prepared to stand. Trivia night (Wednesday) also packs 'em in. The jukebox is pretty good, but usually inaudible unless it's the afternoon. Also, you can serve yourself FREE GODDAMMED POPCORN! A+ for that.

This place is really different. Even people who aren't into dance clubs would have a nice time here. It's so cool, that even if you're a straight up nerd, you'll find yourself dancing at some point during the course of the night at this spot. You'd be an odd character to deny that this really is quite a magical place. In that they continue to endure after all these years is testimony to the fact there is an energy there that absolutely works. It's got everybody...weirdos, freaks, leather-clads, straight heads, divas, break dancers, intellectuals, the famous, infamous, the not so famous, and everything inbetween. If you haven't been...go. Simple as that.
