by Peter D. on The lunch is flavorful and an ample portion to get you throught he afternoon. I will recommend the Carne Guisda - it is served in the best sauce I have had in Austin. Even better than Fonda San Miguel's Guisada. The chairs are comfortable, this is one of the most important features at any restaurant that I frequent. The service is friendly and quick. You can get in and out easily within an hour - if you get there before 12:15. For years, i had walked on by the Copa, I am so glad that I finally ventured in. I am now a regular lunch customer. Only 4 stars at this time, until I have a chance to experience the nightlife.
by Tamala Mcafee on The Modern Jazz Quartet (MJQ). I'm old school. The reality is, if you have been lucky enough to hit this joint, you've no doubt done yourself a favor. This place is really different. Even people who aren't into dance clubs would have a nice time here. It's so cool, that even if you're a straight up nerd, you'll find yourself dancing at some point during the course of the night at this spot. You'd be an odd character to deny that this really is quite a magical place. In that they continue to endure after all these years is testimony to the fact there is an energy there that absolutely works. It's got everybody...weirdos, freaks, leather-clads, straight heads, divas, break dancers, intellectuals, the famous, infamous, the not so famous, and everything inbetween. If you haven't been...go. Simple as that.
