by Sonya Lempe on I visited Busby's last Saturday with my lady and her friends. None of us are Asian, so we were surprised by the Asian population in this bar... nothing wrong with that, just saying. The layout of the bar is pretty cool, with a big dance floor at the opposite end of the building from a billiards area. For having a decent time overall with my company, what brings the rating way down is the bouncers. These obnoxious dudes wave their little flashlights around at everyone all night, trying to break up any groups of people chatting. They must be instructed to try to create walking lanes so no one ever has to say "excuse me." I get it when they are helping a waitress get through so they can serve drinks, but otherwise it's just stupid to be constantly trying to get people to relocate. This place would be good for those who like to dance... just make your way to the middle of the dance floor and stay away from the creeps with the lights.
by Ngoc Skirvin on Totally empty at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon, we were greeted by an adorable, gigantic German Shepard-type dog, and grabbed the big round table next to the bar. The bartender didn't mind that we sat there for ages, only ordered chicken fingers (delicious) and fries (with an awesome sauce), an iced tea, and some beer. It was a pretty nice place to hang out, have a nice conversation, a drink and a snack.
by Kim S. on Taverna Plaka is one of my favorite places to go especially to party, but not too expensive, and the atmospere fun and unique! I had my 30th birthday there and I made a good impression on my guest. They have the best Greek food and I hear the Lamb chops were to die for. I love to watch the belly dancers. Last time I had to much fun and join them on the table.lol........There is a line dance that everyone does all around the restaurant, so everyone can do something! The waiters are great and fun. I highly recomend this restaurant to anyone looking for an all around good time. October 11th, I will be celebrating my birthday again there. So watch out it's going to be a blast!
