DO NOT CHECK YOUR COAT. this place has the worst coat check practice I have ever seen in my 10 years of living in new york. they forced my friend to check her coat, fine, they forced us to pay $20 cover, fine. they forced us (sorta) to buy $8 heinekens. fine. my friend went to get her jacket... and they had apparently given it away. most places that have coat checks have at least 2 signs... 1. we're not responsible... blah blah blah 2. if you don't have your ticket, you don't get your jacket. my friend had her ticket. but they didn't have her jacket. then they proceeded to ask her if she wanted other jackets. during this time, other people walked up to the coat check woman and simply pointed to jackets and asked for them and they handed them over. if you want to commit grand larceny, and i'm not saying you should, you can go to this 'club' and ask for any jacket you want. have a ball. disclaimer: this is sarcasm. i was annoyed, and after a while, the 'manager' finally showed up... i think his name was joe or something. maybe a 28 year old skinny white guy about 6'1". i wanted to let him know i was pissed at the way he was handling things. he said something you typically hear from people pretending to have power... 'i don't have the authority to do anything'. so i said to him... 'then get someone who does and leave'... at that point, he felt the need to kick me out of the club (i'm a small 5'5" balding white guy who could barely pose a threat to a hamster). but i'm used to this. i try to avoid these types of clubs/bars because i can't stand the people that run them. more than likely the bouncers / managers are guys that might have been popular in high school and obviously never made it much further... or they may just have small penises and are trying to compensate. anyway, i simply asked the security person which way to the stairs, and he was nice enough to point me in the proper direction and i walked out. i'm actually amazed by the security dude. he obviously knew i was not a threat and treated me with respect. (thank you mr. random security guard, you have common sense). manager - get a penis pump or psychotherapy to figure out why you think you have to assert your pseudo-power. also... this place is insanely expensive. i strongly recommend a boycott (i'm not joking) or to avoid this place so that new owners can take control and hopefully put more capable people in power. sheesh. this is the first time in a while i feel as if i HAD to write a review. i urge ALL of you to share your stories as well from this or other venues.

Nice building.... Good music... "BRIDGE and TUNNEL" suburban crowd... Sometimes it can feel like a Complete ROOKIE night, as we used to call it in te punk Rock days... It is obvious that most of the women have little or no experience being in a nightclub - it feels like High School.... Not in a good way... A good place for idiots to learn how NOT to conduct themselves in a Nightclub. The Men give off a 'predatory' vibe and seem unable to enoy themselves in a club.. We had an adage.... "If your night will not be a good one unless you 'score' you are a loser..." Learn how to have fun at a club - regardless - - and you will be noticed - people will want to be around your GOOD ENERGY...

I've been to many places and although MOOD is alot older than other clubs, it has never been a disappointment and the decor is still beautiful as always. The other clubs are just quick fads that disappear while MOOD has been going strong for years.
