by Long Boria on I went here on a Thursday night. No cover and no wait in line. The bar is nice and has some cool bottles for decoration. The bartender was great! He was very friendly and fun. Drinks weren't as expensive as some of the other clubs/lounges I've been to in the city. The DJ played good music and people were actually dancing. I really liked this place, I enjoyed it and I would definitely go again.
by Rubin Knipe on Yes, I should've known better. Yes, I shouldn't have wasted a minute of my life at this disaster area of a nightclub. And you know what? If I had checked rateclubs first, I would've known all that already. Instead, I let a couple of (non-rateclubsing) friends drag me here because a promoter they know was putting on some event. We roll on in there, and I'm immediately greeted by a handful of sullen lesbians. (Their mood was a bad omen.) I'm struck by the bad music, which was too loud, full of unpleasant static, and intermittent. (Since when can a nightclub justify not having continuous play? I thought the whole point was for people to dance around while immersing themselves in a sea of oontz-oontz-oontz?) Oh oh oh, probably the lowlight of the night was trying to buy one (overpriced) drink. The exchange went something like this: Me: I'd like a Jack & soda, please. Shirtless, Clueless Bartender: Ok. [SCB proceeds to pour a Jack & Coke] SCB: Here you go. Me: I ordered a Jack & soda. SCB: Ok. [SCB proceeds to pour a Jack & orange juice. What the hell is a Jack & orange juice anyway?] SCB: Here you go. Me: That's a Jack & orange juice. That sounds terrible. And it's not what I ordered. I asked for a Jack & soda. SCB: That'll be $10. [At this point, my friend-who-knows-the-promoter swoops in, pays the $10, and apologizes to me for dragging me here. The drink goes in the trash.] If you're going to be hanging out on Robertson & Santa Monica, save your energy and go across the street to the Abbey. Ugh, I can't believe I just said that.
by Reed B. on Crappy concert venue - bad acoustics on the second floor, NO AC to speak of and $5 waters. Unless I had to go back because of the artist I would not be caught dead here again. Oh - and the bartenders that need to sell you the $5 water that you need because you are completely drenched in sweat are too busy standing on the bar to watch the concert than to help you.
