We came here for the rateclubs event that was held here. It was a blast, I had sno cones, popcorn, a hot dog and a few drinks that were average strength. They had a guy walking around in stilts and cheeseball parlor tricks. I ended up winning a goldfish! (my cat later killed it) Now I didn't spend much money since it was a rateclubs event. The hotdog was overpriced. But overall it was a blast. I could see a problem with having to pay a lot for this. The main thing that makes cheesy carnivals awesome is how crazy and cheap they are. People willing to spend the money want to feel like they're getting something in return. My review is almost fully about that night at the rateclubs event though.

I've heard about this hidden lounge. Getting drunk at dinner, i received at text from my friend saying he's DJing here. Cabbed it over to this secret office building spot. My friend and i were the only non-Koreans. This place was packed. Not disgusting shoulder to shoulder crowded. Just packed where it was poppin. Music was good drinks were made well. Wouldn't come back bc i prefer a little diversity...but interesting place.. On a side note, my friend said the Bon Chon chicken was bangin so i MIGHT actually come back to try just for the food.

cielo is my nest, my sanctuary, my place of unending joy and magic. here is my confession: i am an audiophile. i am a lover of disco and house. my heart holds deep bitterness for Steve Dahl and his 1979 demolition. disco birthed house and HOUSE LIVES. its glory and splendor can be seen at cielo. i saw francois k at deep space on monday, but would teleport if i could any day of the week. the crowd was part neo-soul, part retired raver with a splash of the modelesque and hipster. really tho, most people didnt really freakin care because they were too busy dancing their soles (souls) out. the dancefloor is recessed, and separates the space nicely. the walls are lined with soft fabrics in a 70's pattern that looks almost like a sofa. this place is a bit hard to find upon first visit. its in the meat-packing district and doesnt have a sign, but its elite with out being exclusive. in every aspect the caliber is superb.
