Definitely one of the most beautiful & classy places in the city to see a show. Last night was the first night of Tease-O-Rama, and it was a blast. Kitten on the Keys is MC-ing both shows this weekend and she is one sexy piano playing funny-girl. So far my favorites are the Devil-Ettes: a 60's go-go troupe with gold flapper style dresses and naughty sparkly horns. They kick up their heels to Bardot a Go Go and James Bond style music with really fun fun choreography. Oh my! http://www.myspace.com... I also enjoyed The Hot Pink Feathers, 3 curvy kittens with large hot pink feathers that hide their goods til the very end. The big finish was Catherine D'lish, who I'm hoping will do her famous martini glass number tonight. * Sadly, I missed the girl in the fishbowl. --------------- edit 10/7 This dude put up a couple of pics: http://flickr.com/phot... * The martini number was unbelievable. UNBELIEVABLE. Indescribable even!! Sexy, slow-moving, every move a tease. Exactly what you would think, a sultry girl in a glass of champagne with a sponge. She spun around, she splashed the stage, jesus my life was not complete until I saw Catherine D'lish in a goddamn martini glass.

I totally forgot to rateclubs this place (considering it's near one of my favorite bars, Peculier, and also near a bunch of crappy bars, like The Red Lion, it must have slipped my mind). Located in what I call Freshman Square, the cluster of bars and restaurants near Washington Square Park kind of Noho/near West Village, where freshman wander during Saturday nights as they watch everyone else have a good time getting drunk and all they can do is.....wander. This is not exactly the country capital of the world, but the great thing about this place is it's probably one of the few country themed bars that ISN'T a total dive. the problem with this place is the cover which really shouldn't happen but since there is live music sometimes I understand. The other problem is how the bar area is weak compared to the rest of the table areas (same problem at the Bitter End) and for some reason I remember a fence-ish type thing really getting in the way of things. It got really packed really quickly, and people were just crammed in like cattle in a.......cattle.......farm reference......cowboy.....SNAP. It's cheap though, and full of cleaner cut frattish prep types some days, older men other days, and just a down home crowd on the weekends. But I would really suggest Peculier, if you're going to pick a bar on this strip. It's the only one really worth going to.
