Discovered this place a few months ago, and it's quickly becoming my favorite night out destination. If it were a bit cheaper, I'd be back weekly. I've seen five shows so far, and they were all great - they seem to get some of the greater blues artists around; if not necessarily the household names, definitely the more unique and talented old-time & new performers. By the end, the audience is usually whooping it up too :-). Very cozy & friendly atmosphere, nice stage lightning & sound, and dynamite food. The selection of jambalaya goes across the board, from painfully hot (but so good!) sausage, to the milder seafood. All of the dishes pass my southern friend's approval, and there are also some more eclectic dishes, such as Ahi Tuna tartar appetizer. I'm considering kidnapping the cook and keeping him(her) in a cellar until I get the recipe for this dish... Cocktails are pricey but strong and generous. My favorite, Hurricane Tina, usually lasts me the entire show. I suggest making the reservations for about 45 mins before the show, if you're going to have a full diner. Once the music gets going, it's hard to eat, considering how much fun you'll have hollering and clapping.

If you check your gauge and find it low on frat boys, come on down to Jake's Dilemma for a filler up. Also a good spot to drink when your pockets are to let and you are paying the tab in change. The space is large enough to bring a bring a big group, although often there are already more than a few large groups there already which makes for a push and shove fest after a few pitchers worth are drunk down.

It makes me sad. This is a perfect venue for a private party, but never, I repeat, never for a 'regular night out". I think this location is cursed, do you recall when it was "Club Bas"? uggh, it has just never been right..a little too ghetto, a little too, well...just a little too everything. Geez, now I am sad again.
