My good friend and I have an ad-hoc little tradition when we get out to the club; we start the night off with a shot of Jager.  (Yeah, I know it's borderline juvenile, but hey, it clears the sinuses and sets the mood all in one syrupy swig.)  On this occasion where we found ourselves at Temple for another friend's birthday celebration, we took our shots of Jager in hand, said a brief toast to the evening ahead, and proceeded to throw down the shot... And when the shot should have ended, no less than 1.5 ounces in, we both stopped to notice that the shot glasses were still almost half full. That's right, you're eyes are not deceiving you.  I'm telling you right now that a night club actually pours generous drinks.  *Very* generous.  Unbelievable, I know.  And this was not an isolated incidence, as every drink I had that night pleasantly surprised with its sheer volume. Above and beyond that, I can say that, as far as nightclub experiences go, Temple really had everything you could ask for:  a large space cut up into several loosely-themed rooms (the one in the back of the downstairs floor is particularly cool), a selection of music that actually doesn't border on cliche and ironic (a mix of electronica and rap/hip-hop), and a tolerable crowd.  The line to get in wasn't even that long. Keeping in mind that this review has been normalized against the average nightclub experience, I have to say Temple is honestly a fun place to party at.  Assuming of course that you like to party.  Four stars.

The best club in L.A. - good music, short lines, great people, no LA pretension, almost zero attitude, open till whenever. Too bad they always book DJ's who use CD turntables only and still charge $10 or more. Bottom line, if it's still 11pm on a Sat, get your dancing shoes, head over there, make friends and get your head drilled with pure house music, smile and have fun!
