by zack l. on I went there for a show last night. The neighborhood was very nice I could tell right off the train that it was very welcoming and that people really liked it there. The staff was very friendly and kept the place clear of glassed throughout the show. This was my first 21+ show/first time in a bar. It wasn't overly crowded but there was a big size group. I will definitely go back again. The acoustics in there were awesome and all the bands sounded really good, I was worried I might need ear plugs but it was all good.
by Merlin Fowler on Coat check lady, had to finish typing her text message before she could take our jackets. Thanks Drinks were pretty expensive...almost $10 a piece. Lots of seating. Appetizers were pretty tasty. Teriyaki beef, beets with blue cheese, chicken on a stick, shrimp and ham and cheese sandwich. We were there for a holiday party. It was pretty festive. Well, there were no decorations. It was just a club on a Wednesday.
by Xtina T. on Cielo is hands down my favorite dance club in New York, and I've been going out since the days of Twilo, Tunnel, and Limelight. It has one of the best sound systems in the city with a classy intimate vibe. The crowd varies depending on which night you go, but for the most part they are fun loving, music savvy, good looking, and unpretentious. I have never had a problem at the door, but guys without a female will have to wait on busy nights unless they get bottle service. Cielo books world class talent especially in the house genre. The lights on the wall are fun and unique. There's also a nice garden in the back to cool off, have a cigarette, or chat with new friends.
