by Michael H. on If you like Concentrics, this place is right up your alley. I tried to take advantage of the 3 course, $25 menu. For me, the dishes were overpowered with too much salt, not subtle at all. The sweet beet salad was a clash of strong flavors all screaming in your face at once, and the calamari was a lemony mush. I can't speak for my girlfriend's steak, but she ordered it with blue cheese on the side, which they failed to do. My salmon was fair, but nothing special and again served with an over powered onion sauce. Dessert - I had what amounted to bland vanilla pudding, while my gf had the worst mini-chocolate souffle I've ever had...it was like an extremely dry, crumbly brownie. She literally couldn't eat it without covering it in sauce or with a glop of vanilla pudding alongside. Generally a bad experience and one I would not recommend. The decor is at least interesting, and the neighborhood is nice.
by Heather W. on Maybe because I'm a South Beach native, I'm used to a different vibe, but this place takes itsself waaaay too seriously. It's nice, sure. Walls made of fake gold skeletons...well it's novel, but impressive? Uh, not quite the word I'd use. I took a photograph for an online travel journal and one of the servers came, touched me (BIG no-no) and said, "Dahhhhling, no pictures." Yeah. Okay. This is a bar (a lounge, actually), not Fort Knox. Whole different kind of gold here people. Yeah, yeah, I get wanting to keep the riff raff out, but honestly. Give me a break. The place itsself is very pretty, but other than that, I'd spend my money -and my time - elsewhere.
