Came here a couple of weeks back for a Friend's birthday party. It was kinda blah, didn't really impress me. Mind you we came for drinks (the dinner menu was a little too ritzy for our pocketbooks if you catch my drift). Therefore, my review is strictly based on the "late night" drinking experience. First off, I have to admit I did enjoy the ambiance. They did a good job creating a nice decor. However, my temporary enjoyment was soon overshadowed by the sheer abundance of old (and I mean OLD), skeevy European men. I do not think I have ever seen so many men with tight jeans and greasy, slicked back hair (Pat Riley style) in one central location. I was nervous if I made eye-contact with any of them they would attack. I so desperately wanted to run for the hills, but my friends pleaded with me to give it a chance. So I gave it a chance, but was undoubtedly left unsatisfied. The drinks were expensive (as per usual NYC nightclub standard). The music was this weird tribal, eclectic mix - not my cup of tea, but to each his own. The crowd as I stated before was beyond horrific. The only positive was that we did get to take some pretty awesome pics rubbing the belly of the Buddha - the most action any of us got for the night. In sum, if you're looking for a chill spot with a crowd of attractive 20-30 year olds keep Buddha Bar off your list!

Cant rag on this place because I use to come here often when I was like 17 with my groupies. Havent been there in a while but it is a big club with a mixed crowd and different music. The hip hop room downstairs is terrible. The heater is always on, dudes just standing there and dancing there is a mission. But the rest of the club is ok. Good to check out if your young, or desperate.

Ok, so want to know where not to go if you looking for a chill evening with friends... Aura! Unless you are really up for a fight with the staff! The decor and atmosphere was inviting, but these are just a facade for the HORRIBLE, and I mean HORRIBLE service. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. I was there for a birthday party and as a paying customer one expects at least mediocre service, but you certainly don't expect to be treated rudely. The drinks were terrible and the bar tender was so amazingly disrespectful, it was shocking. On top of making sub-par drinks, she seemed more than bothered to take your order then threw your change at you in return. Further, upon placing a formal complaint, management made no attempt to curb this behavior. And for the record, this was not just to me and my party, but 4 other parties confirmed this as well. It seemed like such a lovely place upon arrival, too bad it leaves such a bad taste in your mouth when you leave.
