I'm guessing this place is hit or miss depending on the night. Went here on a Saturday night so I could finally be a drunk mess with my cousin - she's lived in NYC most of our lives so this was a rare opportunity to celebrate being in New York with her. I was expecting the line to be a little bit of a mess, but we got there pretty early at 11:30 and luckily the bouncers pulled us out of the line to get in. $20 cover yadda yadda yadda...isn't that how NYC is? Thank god we got in JUST BEFORE it started pouring. The downstairs area reminds me a little bit of a smaller Vegas club. There are tables surrounding a middle dancing area and a giant disco ball overhead. It's like a mini version of Tryst! My favorite part of the place is definitely the UPSTAIRS lounge. Not only do they play better music, the bar is easier to get to, and there is a bathroom in the corner! We spent the remainder of the night getting drunk on Bombay Sapphire and tonic (a new fave, even though I rarely drink gin), listening to LMFAO, and spying on all of the random bachelorette parties and hipster/model groups. Such a mixed crowd but it got way better around 1 AM and I had so much fun goofin' off at this club. There were people to watch, people to dance with, people to laugh at (a lof of those), and people to talk to. The crowd was pretty friendly but not to the point of being sexually harassed. I'd go back to Marquee but I'd rather have table service and bring a lot of friends - otherwise it's just a place to drop by to dance. There are way too many bachelorette parties and groups of female tourists from the Midwest and it gets a little annoying; again, it's like a mini-Vegas!

The four stars is because, while I can see that it takes a huge amount of overhead to organize something like this, it's tough for me to drop that much money on a night out. Cab: $5 each way Cover: $12 each, $8 before 10:30, but who are we kidding- I never make it out of the house before 11 Drinks: $6 Coat check (cause I didn't want to leave it next to the three couples getting down and dirty on the couches): $2 But, if you love to dance with no judgments being made about your skill or attire, if you're sick of strangers trying to grind their butt into your pelvis, and if copious strobe lights don't send you into an epileptic fit, then to Bootie you must go.

the interior deco in red tone with chandeliers and mirrors and all, they might look cool in dark but if you look hard enough they are just a bit too old. they need some fresh paint and new refinement to bring back some glitz to the interior! almost impossible to get drinks at the bar, the stage was pretty small. nothing special. may be a good place to hang out with a bunch of your boys if you're a college kid. the crowd is very young and not well dressed. not a place for watching others or being watched.
