by Nicole N. on I love this place.. everytime I go here I have so much fun. Nothing like being able to shake ur booty and drop it like its hot and not worry about being molested!! I love how everyone's so happy. The best time to come here in my opinion are Thursdays and Sundays. I also love when its open upstairs because the dj does a great job of keeping the crowd entertained. I also love their late night drink specials I got a rum and diet for only 5 bucks!!
by Ellyn Depierre on Update: 9/26 Okay, so I have now been here 3 or 4 times and am still impressed with the decor, and the drinks. I am still under the impression that it needs to "find it's groove", as it is still quite inundated with Bridge and Tunnel clientele. Hopefully this will start to ease, otherwise it is going to quickly turn away the San Fran city crowd. I'm still crossing my fingers as it's a venue I would like to feel comfortable in. Slide: A Prohibition Playground Although it hasn't opened yet, this new club is the most beautiful club I have seen in the Bay Area, hands down! You gain entrance to this old speakeasy by taking a slide, yes, folks..you SLIDE into the club! Once downstairs, you have been transported into a level of elegance and sophistication that is unparalleled in the city. A grand piano as a DJ booth, a 30-40 foot alabaster bar that is lit up, open spaces for talking, impromptu dancing...and just simply admiring the sights. Think of Redwood Room, Farallon and Martuni's mixed into one, add a slide, & a dash of fun and you would have Slide. Currently only 4 stars because they are not officially open, so I can't judge the strength of drinks, or the service.
