who's brilliant idea was it to dig up a boat that's been underwater for months and turn it into a.. museum? picturesque artifact? no... BAR! beers are expensive, $8 for copper Australian lager, but if you're into the calming wind, imagining you're on the LOST freighter, and the slight thrill of falling into water any minute cuz you're tipsy, i can't think of a better place than this on a warm, summer night. but i bet the boat was more happy when it was underwater.

I actually don't remember too much about my Oslo experience. I remember that I was with a rather large group, and that the food was pretty decent overall. I think they had some kind of white tuna going on, which was solid, and they have two kinds of Hitachino beer which is AWESOME... any color (i believe they had red & white here) is amazing. best beer ever. But I was in town for DEMF last year, and after getting pretty drunk during dinner, i got even more drunk downstairs... there was lots of dancing involved... i believe Holy Ghost (DFA) was playing and i think i said what's up to them, god knows what i *actually* said... or maybe it was Derek Plaslaiko? shit i don't even really know at this point.... and i also remember my friend Jessica talking about how much Moby sucks, and then tripping and falling later in the evening... only to be helped up off the floor by Moby himself. Now that I think about it, I think I remember the bitch-of-a-hangover that I had the the next day more than anything else about my Oslo experience.

I went to JB's for the first time last Friday after hearing rave reviews about the place. It was super crowded, which is good for business but bad for personal space. Despite how many people were clamoring for drinks, the bartender was great, and I didn't have to wait very long at all for a drink. The music selection was solid, but I think that the pool table in the middle of the room is a bad idea when there are so many people looking for a place to stand. I thought it was odd that they don't serve Yuengling because I was under the assumption that it's a Philly staple. However, they had Troegs which is delicious enough anyway and tastes pretty similar to my favorite beer ever... Hoegaarden.
