by Sascha M. on "Greenhouse!!! Muthaf****rs!!!" is what my partner in crime used to scream two years ago. She absolutely adored going to Greenhouse for afterhours in 2008/2009. The champagne and vodka was always flowing in VIP upstairs which is the only part to be in for afterhours. We would dance and party all night long not worrying about our hot pink Manolo sandals getting spilled on. Wednesday and Thursday nights also used to be awesome here as well- we'd roll deep with the hottest guys in NY. Fast forward to now and my last couple experiences here were less than stellar. However we have had many great nights here in the past.
by Brett B. on Having pretty much never eaten Israeli before, I have to say this was an excellent meal and a pretty fun experience to boot. We stopped by a bit early for cocktails, my wife ordering the champagne cocktail (a little bitter) while I had the tomato and cucumber salad martini. Well. I don't normally like gin, but this was outstanding. Not to mention the bartender put the second one on the house. Once we sat down, we had little to no idea what to order so we went with the tasting menu. The hummus and laffa bread as others have said here is out of control good. Next were the salads which some were good, some hit or miss. I probably could've stopped here, but things kept on coming. For the mezzes we got the fried cauliflower (wow), fried cheese and fig sauce (eh) and flatbreads (no thanks). I would say that was the disappointing part of the meal but the cauliflower was ridiculous. THEN came the fish, which they filleted tableside and was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I probably would've had a coronary by this point, but everything was pretty light. Finally, the dessert arrived -- it could've been that I was just too stuffed, but it really didn't do anything for me. All in all, I'd definitely go back, but I'm not rushing especially due to the costs of the place. But, for a special occasion, it's a great place to try something new.

Medieval poet, Dante Aligheri, had to go through a lot more in his journey through Hell and Purgatory before he managed to reach Paradise(heaven). My journey, was much more simpler in comparison. All I did was drop some pure MDMA(not your dad's crystal meth) and go over to the End Up early enough to beat the long lines at the door and start swinging to the rhythm of the techno house trance. Suddenly my mind and the music unites into One unbroken chain of awareness. Or was my mind synthesizing the sounds and creating sonic imprints from a higher power? After a few hours of unadulterated ecstasy, I start becoming conscious of my environment. I start walking around observing and participating in the playful atmosphere. The plentiful backyard, the beds and couches for lounging and making out, the diversity of the crowd(straight and gay, young and old, burning man and bridge and tunnel, locals and tourists) are all huge plusses in my books. However, I almost took a star off for the huge lines for the restrooms inside and outside at the door. But finally I am taking a more holistic approach as The Endup is a SF institution which has stood the test of time from 1973 and is the closest to a Church lot of SFcans will ever attend on a Sunday morning.
