by Snacker Y. on who's brilliant idea was it to dig up a boat that's been underwater for months and turn it into a.. museum? picturesque artifact? no... BAR! beers are expensive, $8 for copper Australian lager, but if you're into the calming wind, imagining you're on the LOST freighter, and the slight thrill of falling into water any minute cuz you're tipsy, i can't think of a better place than this on a warm, summer night. but i bet the boat was more happy when it was underwater.
by Amanda M. on I realize I'm skewing the star distribution by giving this place 5, but stay with me... If I were rating it based on its nightclub function, it would be 2 stars: full of tools, top 40 music, snooty bouncers and overpriced drinks. BUT...hello hidden happy hour gem! Oh yes! Weekdays from 5-8pm (including Fridays!!) Roe has happy hour featuring $3 beers, $4 well drinks, $5 wine and $4 specialty drinks (Mojitos on Wednesday, TBD on other days)....aaaaand free appetizers! On top of the fact that no one knows about it, so you can bring your crew, get a sweet booth and listen to the (actually pretty awesome) pop/80's smash-up music. Our waitress was a real sweet gal, too. I almost didn't want to tell anyone about my little happy hour secret, but they seem to be desperately hurting for business, so I thought I'd help 'em out. Spread the word. Spread the love.
by Savannah Favaro on Two of my friends, my brother and I ended up here on Cinco De Mayo so the place was PACKED, but there was no line outside, albeit a $10 cover (seriously??) All my friends and I really wanted to do was get drunk and make out with a cute boy. All my brother wanted to do was get drunk enough to not notice any of us making out. Parking was a NIGHTMARE and we somehow lucked out and got a spot on the street. (I guess they lean towards using their valet to park? I didn't even notice there was one - granted I was kind of buzzed at this point) I read other's reviews that say the dance floor here is big - is it? I remember thinking it was REALLY small and in the middle of where everyone walked in. But then again, it was Cinco, so maybe it was more packed than usual. The drinks were decent, the line to the bathroom moved fast, my brother even ran into a group of his friends. My friends and I sadly got the short end of the stick that night seeing as NO decent men were around to take advantage of. Maybe we were being too picky, maybe we were over it after an overly aggressive Russian man began humping each of us, respectively, and asking, "Are you ready??" only to later be followed by, "It is time" as he tried to take one of us (any one) with him. Overall, I laughed, I got buzzed and I got to hang out with some of the people I love most in this world. Oh, I wasn't kidnapped, which was high praise after an experience I had the night before.
