Okay, though I do every once in a while refer to the DNA as being built over a hellmouth, it's probably my favorite venue in which Death Guild has ever been held. Sound is clear, though extremely loud (but you brought earplugs, right?) and the space just has great flow -- it can get a little cluttered around the bars but other than that it never feels particularly crowded unless you make the mistake of being there for Halloween. The dance floor is a comfortable size, the staff is mostly awesome (I have to say this, I know a few of them) and now that they've corrected the little problem with the smoke machine kicking back into the women's restroom, all is forgiven. DNA just seems like a nicely full-service club -- two full bars, as others have pointed out, sufficient seating, great vantage points to view the rest of the club, a couple of webcams if you'd prefer to watch the evening's entertainment from home and not lace up your boots. Of course I'll keep going there... I'll just bitch about it every once in a while to keep things fresh.

This place is what you make of it; if you've got a bunch of friends down to get wasted and dance to horrendous music and eat greasy food, the Hong Kong is your haven. My time there was no exception - scorpion bowls, tequila shots, awkward men dancing around, and fried pieces of chicken. My problem with the place was that we ordered food on the second floor from a waitress, and she brought the check out with the food. She stood waiting for the check to be paid ($20) and then never came back with the change. When we were packing up to leave about an hour later I realized she had never brought my change back and I had to go to the bar and the kitchen to get my change. I don't know if she thought we were so drunk and stupid that we wouldn't notice, but at least she could've apologized.

fun place to go when it's warm out, they have a HUGE patio in back, adn I hear it's packed on Sundays. I guess this would be the gay bar of the mission, and I'm totally ok with that. I went there Friday night for the famous oysters they have, but i was too late :( so, can't wait to get there on time for those sometime soon.
