Result: I'm going to dance my ass off in your "upstairs lounge"..because lets face it, like other of your customers we love latino music and dancing. However, you will ONLY get 10 measly dollars from me. I WILL EAT AND DRINK ELSEWHERE IN HOPES THAT A COMPETITOR TAKES YOUR IDEA AND RUNS YOU OUT OF BUSINESS! Learn to treat your customers right...eventually all this bad customer service will catch up to you. f.u. and see you soon with my 10 bucks and a bottle of water in my bag.. :)
by Margret Washko on I had VERY high expectations for Mr. Flay. I'm not saying he went down in flames, but...well, let me break it down for you. To start with, the ordering process is a little funny. You stand in line like it is a fast food restaurant but you get a number and they deliver to your table. This was confusing because does this mean I tip the person at the counter, the person who brings my food, or the super friendly guy who kept refilling my water? If I'm going to a gourmet burger place I'd like to sit down and have a waiter/ess please. Let's get to the burgers. They are all priced the same unless you are getting a very very basic burger. Which is nice because I hate when I get charged extra because I want a special cheese or avocado (which clearly should be on everything!) My boyfriend got the burger with goat cheese and watercress. Great ingredients, however, when it came out, with tons of goat cheese and a little spring of watercress we were confused as to why it was considered part of the sandwich versus decoration. I got the Cali burger which again had great ingredients but was lacking something overall. So we pretty much drenched everything with ketchup to bring out some flavor. Also got the sweet potato fries, very good, the dipping sauce was pretty watery so it was kind of messy. Although the setup was difficult to understand, the staff was pretty cool. It was slow since all the college kids went home for the summer so we got checked on frequently. The one waiter was very friendly and joked around with us. I will also love you forever if you bring me extra pickles, so I have a sweet spot for him. He even told me that they don't expect tips so I interrupted that at face value. I felt guilty, but maybe Mr. Flay gets good staff because he pays them so well. This seems like it is going to be a tourist attraction because of the big name owner and it being in university city. The interior design is interesting and they have really cool paintings on the wall. I should have tried the milkshakes cause I heard they were great. However, when I think amazing burgers I no longer think Bobby Flay.
by Pinkie Muthana on Went to P1's holiday party last night for the first time. I was happy to discover that yeah, it's kind of like a sexier version of 111! Really happy I decided to wear the little black dress and heels over jeans because the crowd looked really good. I was there from 10:30 -1:30 and D-Tek (the DJ) had me dancing almost non-stop. The space itself is really well thought out, with separate areas for the gallery, bar, and dance area. The staff was all really friendly so it seemed more that I was at a house party than a club. This place is going to catch on big-time, and with 3000 sq ft, I think this will be a major scene in SF.
