by Wil C. on Now that I'm on the mission to get my @ss back into the elite & my current life seems to having bad luck with these minus places, I might as well day-dream about some, nice place I have been: ahhhhhhhhh...... MinX ^^ you can't miss it if you come in where CA-2 & CA-134 merge, there's the white tent/building on the hill. If you can, sit at the patio where you can get a nice glimpse of the valley before sunset. Then, you can enjoy the nice seafood & decor inside. when we came in that night, the waiter mistaken our desert order but was nice enough to put it on the house. The chef doesn't have to, but came out greet to us, I remember clearly cuz that was the day I waited 2 hours for my iphone, he even joke about work for iphone, cook for me for whole month, I told him let's talk a year/two after ;^P after the meal, we were lucky enough to be at same date when Barcardi came in with their promotion bus, the crew were all very friendly, laid-back people, came party with us at the lounge inside. ahh....MinX. you were so good.
by Dorsey Pirkey on Very unusual and unusually good tapas place. Never judge a book by its cover. I'll be honest, if all I had to go by was the look of this place, I never would've gone inside. Old and odd looking dirty brick building with painted walls wouldn't be out of place in any respectable ghetto. But alas, the place came recommended, I went inside. And I'm glad I did! Looks like a bit of Caribbean heaven come to Atlanta. Bamboo and pine straw, semi-transparent roof and a huge pond with huge goldfish! Pick a table right by the pond if you can, it's fantastic. The only concern I have is that if the wind ever exceeds 20 mph, poof, the place will get picked up and carried away... "Toto, I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore" But the best part is the food. It's all tapas and the menu is not large, but quality is excellent. Tapas appear to be a hodge-podge of cultural influences, some are spanish, some are more italian, some are god-knows-what, but they are all quite good! Grilled Skirt Steak is awesome, Chicken Skewers are delicious, and Spicy Fried Calamari is unbelievable! I don't know what they put in that spicy breading, but it's one of the best calamaris I've ever had. I also highly recommend Plantains in caramel sauce (trust me, just try them) and if you're craving more sweet stuff after that, Tres Leches is quite good as well. Basically, everything is good. Tapas are also reasonably priced, on the lunch menu they are $3-5 each, and 2-3 of them are plenty to make for a good sized lunch. I believe this is a sister restaurant for Eclipse de Luna, older and more well-known tapas establishment, but quite different from it. Entirely recommended!
