Unbelievably, I had never been to the Improv until very recently. It's embarrassing really because, c'mon, this is a Hollywood institution and I've never once so much as stepped my foot inside - not even for a drink. What is wrong with me?! I was invited to attend a storytelling event and was super excited to check it out with my girl, and fellow rateclubser, Ms. Valentina D. This was a variety show of sorts led by comedian/author/writer, Dylan Brody, author of the recent release, "Thinking Allowed". There were a handful of comedians who got up on the main stage and essentially read stories from their diaries. It was pretty interesting, and of course, really funny. The Improv is one of those places that gives me a greater sense of respect for the comedians who got there start there. There are pictures of people like Jerry Seinfeld, Sarah Silverman, Chris Rock and others, and I have to imagine that when they were just starting out that a show at the Improv was a coveted gig. This really is a Hollywood landmark and I highly recommend visiting for a show here at least once. I didn't' eat there, because I just came from dinner, but they do serve food and have a full bar. It really is a fun experience.

New girl in town. Room-mate takes her out to show her around. Stop#2 - Martuni's. Completely smitten by the whole vibe. Loved the scene. Great music, people were nice. Had a couple of lemon drops that were delicious! Fast forward- I kind of remember riding a bike down the middle of Valencia Street really late and crawling upstairs to my 3rd story flat. DOH! (WELCOME TO SF) I had a great time!!!! Ha ha ha.
