My first time here was on a Thursday and didn't know it was gay night.... It's not a good place to go if you're by yourself because there are many weird people. I went to Avalon with 2 of my girlfriends. The venue is pretty nice and big. They played really good music. I forgot who was Dj ing the night I went there, but I got to meet them(They were 2) and take a picture with them, which was cool. They had 3 male dancers on stage and they were all stripping, they were pretty good too! hahaha The second time I went there I was with a big group of friends and it wasn't gay night this time! Had too much fun with the bigger group :)

When I'm in the mood for someplace classy and/or having some champagne, this is the SPOT! I used to go here frequently years ago for parties or special occasions, but hadn't been back until fairly recently for their 10 year anniversary party. First of all, I am happy to see they are still going strong after 10 years. It's a testament to the venue, location, the staff and the longevity and cyclical popularity of all things bubbly. Congratulations! Their staff is professional and very knowledgeable when it comes to champagne and will help you in every way to find the one you will appreciate. It was also not until very recently that I realized how good their food was as well: especially their filo-crusted hearts of palm with prosciutto small plate and their fontina with wild mushrooms & white truffle oil grilled sandwich. AMAZING! I look forward to another 10 years of Bubble Lounge success!

222 Hyde was part of 200 Hyde (which is now the parking lot). This magical place use to be called the BLACKHAWK! All of the great Jazz legends have played there. Miles, Dizzy, Coltrane, Monk, Garland, Philly Joe Jones etc........ Whenever I am downstairs I can't help but to visualize and feel the energy that use to posses this place. It sounds corny but if you have any appreciation to Jazz. You should at least check it out and take advantage of the $2 Pabst!
