I have been twice and both times left saying wow that was good. The place is worth visiting just for the architecture. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing and it was amazing.

excellent venue with a 2nd floor overlooking the dance floor they have exclusive contracts with the best trance dj's e.g. Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, etc.. so most of the time they will be spinning here vs. the competitor 1015 which have terrible music whenever the house dj spins. plus and minuses + parking structure is nearby and either free or really inexpensive. + lots of other nearby clubs and bars so if you're not feeling the vibe you can easily walk elsewhere vs. having to get your car and go or catch a cab. + catching a cab is very easy. as there is an actual designated area for cab catching. + Area is well lit during night time.

i've now been to genki three times, and i won't return any time soon. atlanta has plenty of places with good sushi, as well as exceptional service. that said, i've experienced a few problems with genki, as well as the service. 1.) $5 to valet a car? really? at least open my door. btw, the valet ticket says $2, so i'm calling liar liar pants on fire on the valet who was looking for way too much of a tip for subpar valet service. open the woman's door. before parking any other cars or giving away any more $2 tickets, GIVE ME BACK MY KEYS. 2.) miss honey who waited on me last time scammed the gift certificate i used. like many people, i worked my way through college waiting tables and bartending. i know a lot of tricks. i had a $50 gift certificate from half off depot and a $66 tab for food and drinks. my total still came to $26. if the gc didn't cover alcohol it most definitely didn't say so, and i should have received change for my gift certificate. oh and speaking of change, i always tip in cash so the money doesn't have to be claimed at the end of the shift. when i asked for change from the girl waiting on us, she said "i don't have change but if this is for the valet he does." um. HI. get a bank from the bartender. needless to say, since she scammed me with the gift cert by adding on an additional $10 to the bottom line, she got a less than stellar tip. 3.) oh yeah the service. we were sitting right in front of the cashier stand and sushi bar. the girl waiting on us seemed more intent to put her hands on some other waiter than to at least look over at our table and see if the food was good or if we wanted anything else to drink, or to even take away our plates in a timely manner. again, i waited tables for ten years. i know a little something about good service. 4.) would it pain y'all to turn the heat on when it's cold outside? the sushi is ok, but honestly, the last two times i've gone i've had to tell my boyfriend i had a gift card or it was my treat. the first time i went to this place it was awesome. don't know what happened, prolly the same thing that's happened with the rest of buckhead: it's gone way down hill. that said, i'm a phan of starfish and mf sushi.
