I can only review the restaurant as we were there for a Christmas dinner for his work so I cannot review on the club :( I give it 4 stars because I did not have to pay for such little food. Otherwise if I had payed it would have received 3 stars. Usually I will barely eat before we have this annual Christmas shindig but when I told my co worker where we were dining she said " You better have an almost full stomach." I listened to her and good thing I did or else when my hubby and I got a good whiff of Popeyes on our way in there that is exactly where we were going to head to after if we were ravished. Luckily enough I had one strong drink something called wild rose or Pete rose, I dunno some kinda rose. All I know it was a stronggg rose!! After that drink and some wine all I really remember about the food is the Sea Seared Scallops which were the best scallops I have ever had. YUM!! All in all I had a good experience. I did not have to pay or drive home!

Hong K's review says it all, so I'll just second the fact that this is a very good salsa venue and add a couple of thoughts: Cocomo used to be a sure-thing salsa venue regardless of the night of the week or the band. These days it's more hit-and-miss (or perhaps I've become more difficult to please), and I'm more selective about when I choose to go. For one thing, Saturdays have become something of a zoo, with a motley crew of weekend club-goers, tourists, 'Mexican Bus' patrons, and a few hard-core salsa dancers. This isn't always a bad thing, and it's actually great from a people-watching (or people-meeting) perspective, but it makes for difficult dancing. For serious salsa, Thursdays are a better bet. You'll generally find better dancers and more room to play (and, for my money, a better DJ in Fab Fred) on this night. Also, Mondays are laid-back and provide a great opportunity to get some practice with others who are there for that reason. Sundays (not a regular thing, so check the calendar) tend to have excellent DJs, a high caliber of dancer, and the intimate-yet-welcoming feel of a house party. If you're looking for a good time to get acquainted with Cafe Cocomo, or with salsa in general, I'd recommend checking the calendar for a Thursday night when either Julio Bravo or Avance is playing. That's about as close to a sure-thing you can get here these days...

Hosted by your friends at popscene Leisure is hands down my favorite monthly party. The DJ's here play a mix of mostly British music (with the odd Pixies or Dandy Warhols song thrown in) ranging from the 60's (Rolling Stones, The Who), the 70's (The Clash, The Buzzcocks), the 80's (New Order) a giant dose of the 90's (Oasis, Pulp, Blur,) and recent stuff (Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party). The crowd is cool, everyone seems happy and just wants to drink and dance. The bar is good, cheap strong drinks with fast service.
