by Jen S. on was in town for the weekend in buckhead and decided to go out in the area. the concierge suggested havana club and we thought we'd give it a try and go to whiskey blue in the W if we didnt like it. we got a taxi there which was nice b/c we didn't have to worry about parking. there was a huge valet line, so get there early if you want to valet. they have coat check too for $3 which is a must for these cold nights. like everyone said there were 3 rooms. so we went to check out each. when you first enter is the top40/hip hop room, then is the house and then finally a small latin room. the reason for the 4 stars is because there was a LIVE BAND in the first room, who played until around midnight. they were turned hiphop/rap/top40 songs into music that could be performed by a band with a drummer, guitarists, and singers. the girls and the guys were rapping too. man they were soooo good. i was a bit disappointed when they left. and it turned into a normal club with a DJ. my friend left his tab open at the bar. and the bartender remembered us as well as our drink orders, which made it easier to get drinks during the night as the bar got busier. one thing i didnt like though, coming from CA, was that smoking was allowed inside the club. i have a fear of getting burned by someone's cigarette butt and this is a lot more likely when smoking is allowed at a club. the bathrooms were GREAT! first time at a club where there were SO many stalls. you thought it was a trick and was only a mirror's reflection! but there were only two sinks which was usually the only reason why you would have to wait.
by Wanita Bartlome on Tiny, cramped, creaky, and full of popular and choice albums. Also, open late as hell on weekends (I bought my cd at 10:45 on a Saturday. Not bad at all). You'll only want to come in if you're seriously looking to buy that one album you've wanted for days. I also get that fuzzy-hippie feeling when I buy a used CD. Only you can recycle digital media and save the forests, friend.
