by Andy D. on Have you ever been to the Governor's Ball after the Emmy Awards? Well, it's quite superb and star studded. I was having a wonderful time at The Governor's Ball, and then it was all over... and no, we couldn't get into the HBO party, I guess we were not cool enough, but however, we ended up at Eleven for the Top Chef / Project Runway party! I can't say I was disappointed, I mean yea, Eleven is no Governor's Ball, but still, it was a party and a venue that thrilled me. I'm not gay, and I guess it wasn't gay night being an Emmy Awards party, but all the same, I can't say I'd care either way, cause I've been back on gay night with some of my gay friends, and it was still a blast! I mean shit, have you ever done cocaine on a bathroom sink? Okay, well I haven't either, or have I? It doesn't matter, but it's definitely the type of place that could easily go down. Eleven was definitely a cool spot, and I am sure I'll visit it again soon... any place that has a mezzanine is cool in my book.
by Whitney Milson on The Piano Bar is the kind of bar I love. A friend told me to go here if I wanted to go to a good dive bar in Hollywood. This guy gives the best recommendations. Sadly, I don't believe he has a rateclubs account. We went here on a Saturday night after we failed miserably to get into the Opera Nightclub around the corner. I can confidently say that ditching the line at Opera was the best decision I made that week. Cheers! Right when I walked in, I knew it would be a good night. There weren't that many people there, but it wasn't dead. We secured a seat at the bar and proceeded with our ongoing quest of liver damage. The two bartenders were swift with the drinks and super friendly. Someone started playing the piano, but I was too hammered to really observe it by then. I think he was playing some Elton John, among other tunes. People were singing. I definitely agree with the other review -- this is a great place if you want to actually be able to talk to someone while you drink. Great vibe.
