Spacious Vegas type Hollywood club but without all the Hollywood foo foo-ness. Everyone gets in, good music, great sound system, go-go dancers, free tacos, choc-covered strawberries, big patio to chill and probably the nicest bouncers on the planet. P.S. And with this review I think I'm officially throwing in the "clubbing towel". Why not end it on a high note? =) *throws the towel and accidently hits some girl in the face- boyfriend comes running after me* OF course. (._.)

close and personal, but old school, should be built on a grade, so you can see the performers and any level. two drink minimum, decent acoustics, typical jazz venue. saw hiroshima play the stage and they had the presence to connect with the audience. really gotta line up early for good seats for general admission (or best if you know the right people... aka the band members) good parking kitty corner at mason and ofarrell garage.

Ok, so to start,, this place is not for everybody. It's not the trendiest or the cheapest, but it has a lot going for it. Webster Hall caters to many different crowds, with many different rooms and kinds of music. They had hip hop in the basement, hot and crowded like its meant to be. There was house and trance in the main room, which was a huge ballroom and had amazing lights. The nightclub is not my thing, but everyone there was digging it. The concerts, which are booked through bowery presents, and seem to use a different sound system than the nightclub, that sound is crystal clear. Many of my favorite bands have played here, and I love the way the place is all old-school inside. The main room where the concerts are is really beautiful, and makes me think about what it was like for the likes of Frank Sinatra, Janis Joplin, and countless other famous musicians who played here in years past when it was the ritz or when it was the columbia recording studio. Although a little pricey, you get a lot of bang for your buck. Just make sure you're not looking for a lounge - this is a really big nightclub and feels it. I don't go here for the club action, just for the concerts.
