I joined a few friends for lunch at Middlesex the other day, and overall the experience was pretty good. I had a soup/sandwich combination, and found the proportions excellent for the price. My friends felt that the carrot sticks that come as sides tasted too much like pickles, but I devoured mine and started nibbling on theirs as well. A word of warning: The tables at Middlesex are very low - about the same height as the benches that surround them. You may want to think twice before ordering soup - you'll have to balance it on your leg as you eat it. If you have back problems, this may not be the restaurant for you.

The only reason this doesn't get a higher review, are the prices. If you're loaded, by all means, 5 stars. For the rest of us, if you're feeling saucy and had a good day at work, go here. The food is great. You can share appetizers, sushi, entrees, etc. I love famliy style anyway. Even the drinks are great, but i wouldn't expect less than superb for $14 a drink. You are also paying for the huge buddha in the middle and the 1,000 live jelly fish swimming in the ridiculously large aquarium behind the sushi chefs. The crowd seemed like it was all business dudes in suits which i wasn't really diggin on, but oh well. Once i sat down i wasn't paying much attention to anyone anyway. So- that being said. I'd go here again if someone came to visit and really wanted a ny experience. At least i can get in :)

lol!!!! I had to write about Ruby Skye sooner or later. This place seems to have the monopoly in SF, i.e. the BIG DanCE CLUb. We have to at least have one or two of these, otherwisE San Francisco would never be ranked as one of the great club cities, up there with NEW YORK CITY and SOUTH BEACH, FL. I agree with most of the reviews, it's pretty much a formula driven place, Bring in a famous d.j., and crowds will show up.When it first opened, there were acrobatics, fire eaters, clowns and sword swallowers. But noW, there is none of that. Nowadays, its just too many guys, bridge and tunnel tweekers and toursts. No real Club heads here. For that, you have to go to REMEDY or to MIGUEL MIG's PARTY at 111 UTAH. Nice sound systeM and visuals though, tha's a plus! Unless you want to looK at the go go dancers performing at the four corners of the rooM!@
