by Phillip C. on I had heard about Buddah Bar and was interested to try it out. I made a reservation on a Thursday night was was seated promptly after my arrival. It was pretty crowded but the dining room was big enough to accommodate everyone comfortably. There was a DJ but the music wasn't too loud that you couldn't have a conversation. The decor was awesome. I loved the giant Buddha in the back of the restaurant as well as the aquarium. Our food was good. Everyone I was with was satisfied. I would definitely go back.
by Monika O. on The only reason this doesn't get a higher review, are the prices. If you're loaded, by all means, 5 stars. For the rest of us, if you're feeling saucy and had a good day at work, go here. The food is great. You can share appetizers, sushi, entrees, etc. I love famliy style anyway. Even the drinks are great, but i wouldn't expect less than superb for $14 a drink. You are also paying for the huge buddha in the middle and the 1,000 live jelly fish swimming in the ridiculously large aquarium behind the sushi chefs. The crowd seemed like it was all business dudes in suits which i wasn't really diggin on, but oh well. Once i sat down i wasn't paying much attention to anyone anyway. So- that being said. I'd go here again if someone came to visit and really wanted a ny experience. At least i can get in :)
by Cynthia Stuczynski on The meal was disappointing at best. My steak was overcooked and tough, and the sides were forgettable. The service was sloppy, and the speech our server gave us about Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans was both poorly rehearsed and out of place while we were eating. Maybe I'm a cynic (well, definitely I'm a cynic), but giving us a spiel about carrying on after the hurricane seemed odd. It's not like because the restaurant is based out of New Orleans we're magically transported to the Bayou when we walk in the door. We're still in Buckhead. Me "carrying on" and ordering a steak in Atlanta doesn't really do much for the guy who lost his house. Just kinda odd, left us all shaking our heads wondering if he was supposed to give us the speech or if it was just on his mind.
