Fantastic Fun! Have been here only a few times, but each time was a lot of fun. Very old time artist salon feel with a lovely crowd full of fun pretty people. I have never had to wait to get in, but I usually go pretty late in the evening.

Definitely one of the first Concentrics spots that actually gets it right. I went here the other night with a friend to check this place out - and I'll admit I had set myself up for disappointment. That's how it always is with the Concentrics restaurants.....all style and no substance...forgettable food. So first off, the design is quite lovely. If I could pick a restaurant to live in I would want it to be one like this. Old beams, pressed tin ceiling with a perfect patina, mix of old and new chandeliers. The tables are made of reclaimed wood and just for kicks they have a......green apple? My one complaint is the menu - it's written on a giant chalkboard and if you happen to get sat at the other end of the room, good luck trying to read it. I have 20/20 vision and I had trouble. We had heard kind of mixed reviews about several of the items and decided on the sausage trio, the spinach salad, the fried duck confit, and the pork cheek. I thought the sausages were just okay. I like sausage alright but it's definitely not one of those items I go out of my way to order. I guess I don't appreciate the taste differences of each kind enough. The salad was "meh", basically ordered as something green to go with all the other items we ordered. I really enjoyed the two entrees. The fried duck confit came atop a ham and cheese pastry type thing. Forgive my lack of a better description, all I know is it tasted heavenly. The duck was perfection. Nice and light, a little crispy, not at all greasy. You could cut through it with a fork it was so tender. The pork cheek was also quite good. It literally melted in your mouth and fell apart as you tried to pick it up with your fork. It also came with a crawfish pancake which was a nice touch. Long story short, this one actually impressed me. I hope that the food quality remains at this level. With many Concentrics restaurants, the food quality often goes down after they've been open for a while. The only thing left to say is....wtf is up with those naked man statues in the center? They didn't even make an effort to make them look antique so here you are, eating your dinner, and wouldn't you hate to be the guy with a big *ahem* white concrete package next to your face all through your meal?

The space is awesome but the only nights I like it here are on Thursdays for the GBH parties. It attracts an eclectic young crowd, is free if you RSVP at http://gbh.tv, they play good music, and there's plenty of room to move around. Downside? Expensive drinks but that can be solved with some pre-gaming.
