You can't go wrong with this place. All the criticism about a dress code: there is nothing wrong with getting dressed up and going out for a night on the town. If you don't want to get dressed up and go out for the night, well, go to Outback steak house. Just kidding. Sort of. We have always had great service, and it's nice to be at a place that knows how to prepare a martini. I also think the servers in this restaurant are not condescending, as some servers at haut restaurants can be. Hanna T, I am sorry for your experience, but, not being white, I have always been sat in the main dining room. I have seen several people in the side dining room, people of many different colors, and they are typically in T-shirts and Jeans. The people there are just as nice to the people in the side room who are casually dressed (come on now, they are as well, paying 100 a person for dinner and drinks). I think it is just that, the restaurant does state, that their is a dress code in the main dining room that requires a coat. The last time I was there, there was an African American gentleman with a t-shirt and Eagles hat at the bar with some other casually dressed people, and they were very respectful to him as well as the others. I think he may may have been a regular. I think it all has to do with that Jacket requirement, nothing more. Hopefully. Anyway, The filet is great, but I always get the Prime Rib with Escargot to start, and you can never go wrong. Afterwards, you have access to all of Rittenhouse at night, and you are already dressed for a night out on the town. Take a chance, get dressed up, and have a great dinner. Treat yourself. Make a night of it.

high expectations were met! we dined at zahav last night and i still feel that warmth in my belly. to start with the atmosphere is great, a big airy high ceilinged dining room with a visible wood fire and a kitchen with a bar of seats in front of it, seperated only by a nice sheet of glass, very cool. now the food, we ordered the turkish hummus, all the hummus comes with awesome fresh hot laffa. balkan style mackeral, chopped liver, raw kibbe naya, crispy haloumi, crispy moroccan cigars ( these were so good) , fried cauliflower, jerusalem grill, and the sabra which is young chicken with sumac onions over the softest cous cous ive ever had. we ended the meal with turkish coffee. there is also a nice beer selection (small but good ) and a really cool cocktail menu. they could get famous just for the hot bread and hummus but thankfully thats not the only thing on the menu. i would go back today! if it stays this good, which i think it will, i'll be a regular. p.s. i didnt mention that this is probably the single best tasting chicken i have ever had. seriously, i gave it alot of thought.

4.5 Very pretty club, sunken in dance floor, pretty outdoor patio, tended to restrooms. Decent cover, esp. for the likes of dancing to Francois K. and Louis Vega (when I went). Room to dance. Marquee house / electronica acts / djs. Vibe is pretty good. Different from an SF house club for sure -- glossier, more refined and self conscious. People are friendly. But it's not as "real" as say Shelter or Devotion (well, when it was in SF). Cielo def. seems to have its devotees. I saw the same people I saw at Shelter the weekend before and both nights I was here. A very good thing.
