Circle has always been a part of my week for over a year now. Since I love kpop and dancing, I fell in love with Circle as well. However, recently it has been getting more ridiculously crowded and the guys seem to becoming more shady by the second. Unfortunately, Circle is the only nightclub that plays kpop in Manhattan and given that my friends love coming here, I suppose Circle is still in my future. However, I have decided not to go unless I pregame first. Only with a certain amount of alcohol already in you before a night of clubbing can you enjoy Circle.

I'm very torn on this place. As a Korean I knew full well about booking (the concept of waiters bringing girls to boys). Most people get very turned off by the idea, but really you just gonna have a firm hand and say "get the hell away from me". I went on a event night for Visionshock so the crowd was mostly young, Asian college students. The music was just very simple top 40 with a few slow songs thrown into the mix. There was no Kpop like I thought there would be. The decor was nice. They had these nice lit up trees around the table and a really well lit but small dance floor. They do NOT allow drinks on the dance floor which is a huge party pooper. Drinks were hecka expensive at $15 for a AMF. Damn! This is not Hollywood...this is Ktown! Get it right! Oh well. I would come back here though. I had a great time and I won't let something dumb like booking throw me off.

Got dragged out recently for a friend's birthday recently and guess what?!?! A bunch of ex-Balboa staff are now here of all places!!!! Yep - you heard me right, bartenders, waitresses, etc. etc. I felt at home right when I walked in the door. Prices are a bit steep for a night out - but what's new? This is a hot spot to be 'seen' haha.. thus the economics of providing an atmosphere. I think Gil's review really highlights this.. To me, it's almost theatrical the way people pose or put their 'game' on at nightclubs in general...I'm genuinely more concerned with the quality of the music and so far, there has been no let down.
