by Jeff F. on I was excited with the first week of Trigger, but it's gone downhill FAST. It is a nice new space. The biggest problem is the music and the drunk trashy crowd it evokes. If the point of Trigger is that it's a new lounge experience, then play music that fits the scene. Some loungey progressive house would be great, but digging up old tired 80's hits isn't it. And for those complaining that they're looking for hip hop, go to Q Bar or BOC. Hip hop is definitely not going to class this place up. A dress code wouldn't hurt either...there are plenty of cookie cutter Les bars in the neighborhood for those that can't be bothered to take a shower and put on a decent shirt. My hope is that they'll get in sync with the crowd and get the music right. If so, I think Trigger has great potential.
by Brice Bottolfson on I wish there were two businesses listed, the restaurant and the bar/nightclub. I went to the restaurant twice in the last week and it was excellent. The drinks were good (passion fruit mojito was to die for) and appetizers were excellent (especially curry duck confit) and the one entree we tried was really good too. The sushi rolls were okay, nothing special, but not bad. I would definitely recommend it for the small plates -- you can get great sushi at so many other places in SF. The service was excellent both times, but as a caviat we were there during early dinner hours both times (mid-week and weekend) and it wasn't very crowded, so no telling if the impeccable service would hold up under the pressures of a large crowd.
