I have been to Mykonos Taverna about five times now. I absolutely love it there; i would go everyday if my income (i'm a student) could afford it. I also planned my friend's surprise birthday dinner there and it turned out excellent with all the service help from several servers, plus the manager. My main reason to give this review is because I feel like Mykonos definitely deserves a better rating. Pros: *excellent service! I cannot stress that enough. *nice atmosphere (i'm unaware of this "loud" music from the previous poster; the music has been anything but loud from my experiences) *cleanliness everywhere! This is a huge plus for me as it is for others. The area is always spotless. *they give you a small spanakopita-like appetizer shortly after you are seated (free of charge) - I say spanakopita-like because there is not any spinach in it. I think it is cheese based, however, it's tasty. I will have to ask the server what exactly the dish is called. *with concerns about the 'pricey' menu - from all of my experiences of eating at Greek restaurants, the prices at Mykonos Taverna are fairly priced. The servings are HUGE! and i mean, HUGE (i hope you bring your appetite). For example, if i were to order a MEDIUM Greek salad with grilled chicken on top (extra $4.95 I believe, but worth it because of great portion size) it would come out to be about $12 or so. However, the salad plate is humongous and includes triangle-cut pita slices, greek potato salad, and their own homemade dressing (olive oil+balsamic+spices). I have never ordered a large, because the medium is already more than enough for my appetite (and I can certainly eat!) *Homemade dishes - all the dishes there are homemade. I guess for me being the health conscious person that I am, this makes a huge difference. Even their lemony potatoes (side dish - wonderful as well) are homemade. *If you like gyros, the gyros are absolutely fantastic. I don't eat gyro meat, but everyone i have taken to Mykonos for a gyro raves about it to me. Hefty portion of gyro meat as well so I would recommend bringing an empty stomach. You also get a side with the gyro. I recommend the lemon potatoes. *patio seating - possibly not a big deal to people, but their patio is also well kept. I enjoy eating on their patio on a nice day. *desserts - I honestly haven't tried their desserts since I'm on a strict diet regime, but they have a nice variety of desserts. I would be surprised if the desserts did not taste as good as they look. Not only do they have greek desserts (lady fingers, etc), but they also have cakes, etc. Cons: no cons so far Try Mykonos Taverna

Rude door staff who literally strip search you and who regularly don't honor coupons. They wanted to take my &^%^%^ allergy medication away because they assumed it was illicit drugs!!! That can literally kill me! If you try to go here be warned that they will very thoroughly search you-- it's more intrusive than TSA screening-- I'm not kidding! I tried going back one week later with a large group of friends and then they wouldn't honor the special. Never again.

after dinner @ scala's we headed out here to end my bday night... this place is ultra swanky.  it's a nice place w/great wooden walls, and a superb view of the city. i wanted to go dancing, but i didn't want your typical booty shaking, ghettofied place.  i wanted something a bit more classier, and i wanted some ol' school/funk music.  they had a live cover band that covered the danceable songs you hear on 98.1. sometimes i like to get down, ol' school style.  it's the old soul in me ;) i hear wed. nights are real fun.  a group of my friends have been patrons of wed. nights for years.. i'm a bad friend who never joins them.
