by Keenu M. on I've only DJ once here at The Mayan back in 1997, and I love it. The main DJ is Joel a very good friend of mine. He's been DJ'ing for Mayans now for years !!! Going on This place is Open: Fridays and Saturdays 9pm-3am $10 cover b4 10:30pm even if your in line and you don't get in by 10:30pm you still have to pay $10.00 sucks Dress code is strict.. no sneakers, baggy clothes, ripes or holes ..YOU HAVE TO WEAR DRESS SHOES! This isn't Orange County LOL shorts and slippers Friday: Younger crowd, very packed, good music (like power 106 music/house), we have 3 go-go dancers eye Candy ! Saturday: My crowd older and respectful , very crowded, salsa music, live band not much hip hop go fridays for that. Drinks are way pricey: Beers: $7 (only budlight, corona, & heinekin) cocktails: $9-$12 ( i suggest Drink Before You Head To Mayans ) suggested amount to bring 40.00 girls are just aim to get a free drink bad girls !!! Mayans always crowded, that can be good or bad depending on what u like. 3-levels; Latin music upstairs, Hip-hop downstairs, both rooms are very packed HOT and Sweaty. There are 3 bathrooms; One upstairs, One on the main floor, and the biggest one downstairs. Large outdoor smoking areas on both sides of the club. 7 separate bars. Coat check in the front. The detail of the entire place is beautiful. like Lost Of The Raiders .. Temple Of Doom or something ? Bathrooms wet .. so becareful when you step on piss .. and bring it in your car and home carpet !!! No Jowk !!! Lines for the girls bathroom- feel sorry for you ... Bartenders .... ehhhh lines are long and long and long and waiting gee's when do i get at least a drink ... Need more Bartenders if you plan on making money .. Poor staffing @ the Bar Servers ... Friendly i don't see any issues with customer service. Security asked for your I.D every time you head upstairs so be pre-pared it's not an Airport LOL and no Terrorist clubbing gee's who knows. Alot of room to dance if your skinny ..... big, fat , skinny , big butt their and we're all here to have fun ! no discrimination or disrespecting ... We all live in the same world !!! Let's Just Enjoy Life !! Thanks Mayans ... great but work on some of the issues ... Customer Service is Main ingredient to making a successful dollar bill !!!!

[She let my friend, Caleb, cut bar limes.] Also should be noted: If you are are lucky enough to visit El Rio during a "Fernando-listening-party" ...sing along. And sing your heart out.
