by Mike D. on Came here for someones Birthday party last night. Positives: -Frank squeezed us in, albeit at two separate tables. -The Lemon Couscous and Medjool sampler were excellent. Negatives: -our party was separated at two different tables. -The portions of the meals are INSANELY small. $20 on couscous and a sampler dish is not cool in my books. I could have bought 5 times that same meal at any other Middle Eastern restaurant. -The people that go there. -The 20 or so security guards who were casing the joint like I was at a bank. -The security guard pow-wow outside of the bathroom while I was taking a wizz. They were discussing their "strategy" to clear out the people in the restaurant before the clock strikes 1100. When the clock strikes 1100, it apparently turns into some sort of "dance club" where girls pretend to be hip, and barely wear any clothing, while the males spike their hair, wear printed button up shirts, and act like brainless fools. -Seeing two girls get dropped off by a "driver" and act like they were rolling up on the red carpet. Ill stop there before I turn this into a book of negativity. The food was good, but way over priced for the portions. The atmosphere was bland and fake to say the least. And Vegans have VERY little choices. Couscous, Hummus, Tabbouleh, and Baba Ghanoush are not meal options.
by Ervin Rudoy on This place is huge. I wonder if they do private events? If so, this would be an ideal place, especially with the rooftop bar. But as a normal place to go on the weekends with friends to have drinks, I'd say no go. Took me almost an hour to get to the bar to get a round of shots on the top floor. I did meet a really hot guy while we were both waiting in frustration and we both bounced over to Marquee (reviewing that place next.) I'll break out into an Amy Winehouse parody now... "They try to make me go to PARK and I say NO NO NO. Yes I need a drink, but not as much as you think. So let's not GO GO GO."
