Throw in some shuffleboard, pool tables, and a cheap coin-operated basketball game and you have a good solid night that doesn't take itself too seriously. I usually have a good time here because I roll deep (because I can). Other than me, I don't think it's too pretentious. Busby's is often chock full of sleazy asian guys, but it's rare to find a bar that doesn't act like too many Hollywood clubs do these days. Come before 10ish for free cover. After? A mere $5. Drinks are an average $10 for mixed, cheaper for beer.
by Xiomara R. on This restaurant is a-okay. Good, but not great. We came here for Valentine's day, and have to give the place credit for that. Where as most locations overcharge for the day, this place had no increase in price... and actually threw in a free glass of champagne. Granted, it was very cheap champagne, but still it was free which was amazing given the date in question. Anyway, we ordered the Coffee Marinated Flat Iron Steak and the Brined Pork Tenderloin on a bed of Chorizo when we went. Of the two, the latter was the clear winner, but Chorizo dishes always come out ahead. What was disappointing, though, were the portion sizes. The waiter gave us guff when we were only ordered two things... but for tapas these were small so we can at least understand his suggestion. One will probably want at least 1.5 dishes per person... but that's going to get super expensive sadly. Overall, going there was a great experience, as we ended the night on the rooftop overseeing the view. If they have a similar Valentine's Day special every year, then it would be recommendable to others to go during that day. For normal, day-to-day, use though its a tad too pricey for our tastes. All in all, with everything factored in, its unlikely we will ever be back.

First of all, it's absolutely massive, with about four different "scenes" -- downstairs restaurant-y area, outdoor patio, upstairs lounge, rooftop patio -- and some convoluted back staircases that you use to get from one zone to the next. Despite that, it still manages to get packed. Getting a drink was a pain in the ass downstairs, and downright impossible upstairs. Additionally, there's an odd culture-clash vibe to The Park: when I was there, downstairs was white and fratty, upstairs was heavily Asian both in decor and in clientele. I figured it had to do with the demographics of private parties that were there, but then I logged on here and saw that another rateclubser had noticed the same thing. I went here for a party, and it literally took 20 minutes to actually find the group, and when we found them, it was so packed and loud that we could barely hear each other (which we thought wouldn't be the case in such a big, spread-out venue). Additionally, some more friends of mine (guys) were planning to come to the party around 1 AM, but got bounced at the door because they were wearing sandals. Puh-leeze. This place is hardly velvet-ropey.
