by Heriberto Racey on I've never been here for a 'club/dj' night but as far as music venues go this is one of the best in LA. I dont care what anyone says, Avalon has the best sound AND lights in town. I've seen some great shows here and the sound is always superb. Not every band uses the lights but when they do have have someone with them that knows how it can improve their set greatly. Never feels too packed when its a sell out either....Just wish more quality shows came here!
by Ariel P. on Fun. That's the end of the story. Sure, sometimes it's crowded and you might have to wait in line. To avoid that scenario head over to Middlesex before 9:30. You will miss the cover charge and the line and be able to pick your perfect spot to sit when you don't feel like dancing. This is one of the only lounge/ bars in the Boston/Cambridge area that has ever struck me as being particularly cool, probably because it doesn't try too hard. If you are in the mood for a pub type place, girls in polo shirts, and guys in baseball caps you might not be that impressed by Middlesex. But, I think if you give it a chance, and stop judging crowds by the amount of hair product they use, you will probably have a good time anyway ;)
