by Lane Bernes on I'd been to Mezz a few times before I actually started working there, and always had a good time. The stage is pretty big, the sound system is among the best in the City, and the staff were generally friendly. I liked going there, although there weren't as many Rock shows as I would prefer. Still, I had fun whenever I was there. Then I started working there, and realized I had found a home. It's rare to find a place where everyone is cool and friendly, and who are on the same page about how things should roll. I feel valued and trusted, which is important. Best of all is they let me DJ the Dinosaur Jr. gig, so it's all good! Plus, I got to meet Spike friggin' Lee, who was extremely nice, unpretentious, and easy to speak with. If only I'd had my Reality Check TV cam w/ me...
by lea m. on Bimbo's is Awesome. I've seen some live swing bands and of course, Tainted Love. Tainted Love is a 80's cover band must see experience. There will certainly be the drunk, annoying rude girls shoving their way to be in front of the stage (without at least saying excuse me....I hate that), and there will also be the amusing guys with their backs arched backwards playing air drums or air guitar. But that aside, this place is truly unique and beautiful. It's totally got a touch of class, but doesn't make you feel out of place for showing up in jeans. Upon one visit, you will totally be hooked. You'll find yourself looking up shows to attend, and you will have an awesome time!
by Tony T. on If you're looking for a FUN night on the town, this is the place to go! If you love to dance and have some drinks with friends, the Factory is the place! Fridays are Popstarz night which plays today's hits of Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop and R&B. The people are all friendly and very energetic. A great crowd. While it caters mostly to the gay community, it is friendly to everyone. Worth the trip! You get your fill of eye candy, WeHo-style and you have lots of fun in the process! The drinks are decent, kind of pricey, but it's still good. Also if you visit the website, you can get on the guest list and get in for free and avoid the cover, so that's always worth it! And every once in a while, they have live musical acts there. I've seen various acts from Deborah (Debbie) Gibson to former American Idol contestants to CeCe Peniston so if you like that, it's always worth going! Have fun and dance your behind off!
