by Alexander P. on Jakes is another Dive Bar in the heavily crowded Amsterdam strip. Everyone has a good time here, it can get a little barbarian. I prefer other nearby watering holes. However Jakes is a good time.
by Carissa Caney on It was pretty good, but i liked Lava more. I'd agree with Nicole, it seemed a little more like a people watching or private party kind of spot. We went back to Lava pretty quickly after hanging out for a bit.
by Stacy E. on I went to this art gallery Jan 14,2007 for a friends art exibit. The place is very open and spacious. It get's very crowd but the bartenders seemed friendly and everytime I wanted a drink they were very quick! The cool thing about this place is that you get to look at works of art, drink and listen to music. I enjoyed myself here and the people all seemed very nice. The music they had playing there was also very good! I would try this place if you want to get dressed up and go on a date...look at art....and enjoy each others company! It's free before 10pm or after I believe its 10$.... UPDATE: I was here last weekend and although I still had fun. The bartenders sucked and were not moving around the bar.
