i really like this place. i cant believe we have a spot like this in Atlanta, and to make it even better about 5 minutes from me!!! this place is like something right out of a movie! i went on a Saturday night to celebrate my belated bday. they had a live salsa band and plenty of space for dancing. we had a party of 6 and sat right down. the place is soo big. the food was just ok. the calamari was good on top, but as you got on the bottom of the plate, it was undercooked. i got the steak skewers and steak tacos. the steak in both dishes was very good and flavorful, but it was undercooked. i couldn't chew it. i was choking on it b/c it was too chewy. the ribs were good, but had a high fat content on it. the plates average $7-8 dollars, but they were very very very small platters. the tacos were really good: steak, fish and chicken. i also had the platanos maduros-i love plantains, but never had them soaked in condensed milk with cinnamon. very tasty and filling and sweet. i ordered the prickly pear Margarita for only $8 is was freaking strong!! i couldn't handle it all. our waiter was very busy that night. we always had to wave our arms like crazy whenever he passed to get his attention. i would definitely go back to this place for maybe dessert and drinks and most definitely the band and dancing. free validation i heart loca luna!

This has always been one of my favorite places. Atmosphere is awesome. Two bars downstairs with some seating and then a dining room on the top floor. Draws a good crowd too eventhough it's in midtown. (joke) Order the following: 1) Mussels: Made with a coconut, lime/soy broth and served with crusty grilled bread. delicious. 2) Arugula Salad: Has peaches, roasted onions, nuts, and a perfectly flavored citrus vinaigrette 3) Pork Tenderloin: was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. Wasnt dried out like some places can do 4) Pappardelle with duck confit. This is my favorite dish. I also love pappardelle noodles when they are fresh! Bacchanalia's pappardelle may be the only better I've had in ATL. 5) Hanger Steak: not as amazing as the above but good. What underdelivers is their mac and cheese. The waiter was blowin it up like it's the best in the world and he actually said Thomas Keller would be impressed by it. I should have taken that as a warning. It is good, but was served piping hot and I've had better at a lot of places. They do serve it with broiled bread crumbs on top which is a plus. I only had one bad experience there a year ago. We had a fairly large group there for my birthday and the food came out extremely slow and some dishes were either out or not ready in time. it was kind of a disaster in service but I still go back. Last time i went they had a new head bartender who has some specialty cocktails. I highly recommend them. Get the Klink!, the Shiloh Wylde, or the The Pimmps Cup. They added the second bar to serve up simple drinks so the bartender next door can make these wonderful concoctions. Overall, i'm a big fan. And this is a great date spot.

The staff is wonderful. The owners are warm and involved. VIP host is attentive and the event manager is accommodating. This is a smaller venue with great design elements of dark textures. It's dark and sexy, but don't leave without checking out the mezzanine - striking white walls and furniture. It's a very modern, uniquely designed space. The crowd ranges from the "after work" to "house heads" mixed in with a few wannabe socialites. The music is always good. You can count on Thursday nights having the same vibe and same quality music. The night is never without the girl who has had way too much to drink and her not-ready-to-leave friends are busy propping her in someone's booth or against a wall. The all too familiar feeling of "if she bumps into me one more time" comes over me at least once a visit.
