by kaylie d. on My sis ate like it was a buffet here for the happy hour: fried chicken and beer...cheap is good, bring it on! Came on a Friday night and it was pretty packed. The dj was jamming oldschool hiphop music and the tables were packed with groups of 5+. We had to wait for a table, kind of awkward standing in a big group, blocking the elevators. However, the waitresses were very catering, they even brought over a trayful of free scooby snack shots so we can enjoy our wait. Awesomeness. Thumbs up for the tasty flavored soju-watermelon, apple, peach...and good to soak up all that alcohol with some greasy fried chicken! If you want to dance off all that fat you've consumed, be prepared to dance by yourself or in the hallway going to the restroom....i vaguely remember a dance floor, if there was one, don't think anyone was up for shaking their booty here.
by Odette Lauzier on Just for the record, i love hanging out in union sq, everything you could possibly need in your vicinity, but if i really felt the need to bowl, i'd take my chances and venture out to chelsea because you wont' be getting any bowling done at Bowlmor. Before you are even allowed to deign your presence upon bowlmor, you are grilled by the bouncers who for the record take their job too seriously. Up the elevator and....drum rolls please.....you are right back in crush and pack and feels like you are at club. For the number of times i have been there, the place is way too crowded. To wither a way your time while you wait for a lane to open up( which is an average of 2hrs) you spend whatever money you have on drinks(careful by the way..you are going to need every penny to be able to afford bowling). Trying to carry ona conversation is impossible because of two things 1) the place is packed as hell which means everyone is talking loud to be over heard.2) Well the music is loud. Its a cool place to go once in a while & maybe impress your out of town friends with, but thats about it.
