Out of all the bars in k-town, this is probably the best you can get. The waitresses are really on their game, and I love how busy and crowded it gets on the weekends! I really love the techno"ish" music they play, so that makes me happy as well! A night has never failed when my friends and I are at third floor! The only negative I would have about this place is that it's ultra super expensive. But hey, it's NY right? ^^;

Came here for Restaurant Week. However, after adding up all the dishes that we had the final pricing wasn't too far from the regular pricing. That was a bit disappointing but hey at least the food was pretty good. The small portion of Salatim & Hummus with Laffa was complimentary. The salatim had 8 little dishes, but my companion and I could only remember Cucumber & Tomato Salad (refreshing but unimpressive), Stewed Garbanzo Beans (decent), Tabouli (it was basically just parsley, the bulgur wheat was very minimal), Twice Cooked Eggplant (my favorite one, the eggplant flavor was very prominent), Stewed Beets (wasn't too big on the flavoring), Sweet Peppers (nice and sweet), and Marinated Cauliflower (crunchy and refreshing). The hummus had a really amazing texture; however, I thought it was a little bit under-seasoned to be quite honest. The laffa was also really tasty. You can't beat freshly baked laffa sprinkled with Za'atar. After that we ordered Crispy Haloumi/Dates/Pine Nuts, Fried Cauliflower/Labaneh with Chive/Dill/Mint/Garlic, Chopped Liver/Rye Toast/Cippolini Onion, Fried Kibbe/Tahini, The Bulgarian, and the Galil. And for dessert we ordered Konafi and the Roasted Pear. The Haloumi was good. I've always liked hard cheeses like this (like Paneer) and it was nicely charred. The date puree gave it a nice sweetness and the pine nuts amplified the overall textural experience. The cauliflowers had a good flavor; however, it was a pity that they were a bit over-fried. They weren't crunchy at all. Also I think the mint in the sauce kind of overpower other herbs. But the overall flavor was solid. The chopped liver tasted like chopped liver. But that was pretty much it. It wasn't a hard dish to recreate at home. The fried kibbe was the disappointing one for me. It was really dry. It had a decent flavor but texture wise it was not great at all. Also I wish they could've jazzed up the Tahini a little bit to amplify the overall flavor further. Oh well. The Bulgarian meatballs were probably my favorite thing from the evening. It was really, really juicy, and it had a good flavor. It's kind of hard to find grilled meatballs that would ooze out juices when you cut into them. However, the accompanying rice and beans were really dry. If the beans had a bit more sauce the whole dish would've been perfect in my book. The Galil was also just decent. it was just grilled baby eggplants topped with pomegranate, pistachio, and Tahini. First of all the skins on the eggplants were pretty tough. I really did not care for them at all. The flesh had a great flavor, and because of that it made me want to just scrape the meat from the skin. Also, it was kind of boring to just splatter Tahini over the veggies and sprinkle pistachios on top. By the way I did not taste pomegranate at all. I'd rather have a plate of Baba Ganoush. The desserts were really great. I really enjoyed the subtle sweetness from the Konafi. I was kind of iffy because I thought it was going to be a bit heavy, but everything was very light and flavorful. It went really well with my little cup of Earl Grey as well. The roasted pear had cashew Baklava, and white chocolate Panna Cotta. This was also a successful dish for me. Every component was great separately and they were amazing all together in one bite. The hints of sweetness from Baklava's honey and cashew worked really well with the creamy fruitiness of the roasted pear (the flavor of the Bosc was so concentrated it was amazing), and to my surprise the Panna Cotta also worked really well in the dish, despite my usual severe distaste for white chocolate. The service was good. Our server was attentive and he reminded us to consume the Haloumi before it went cold = super hard. Water glass was constantly being filled and we did not have to wait long for the server to check in with us. The fact that he was really cute just made the experience more enjoyable (yes I could be shallow, but whatever). I only gave it three stars because of the price. It was also because of the fact that the first four Mezze plates with Luffa/Hummus/Salatim were more than enough for us. We had to pack up the Bulgarian and the Galil. I think I'll make the eggplants into a little Baba Ganoush, chop up the meatballs, and eat them on a toast.

scorpion bowls are kind of fun, but also overpriced and not particularly tasty. i was given someone else's credit card when i left the bar in place of my own, left the bar, realized the mistake, came back 10 till closing to return it and get my actual card back. i had to argue with the bouncer for 10 minutes until a manager happened to walk past and hear the conversation and pulled me in. very annoying. should not turn away people that have other people's cards... i cant really recommend this place at all, except that i can understand that scorpion bowl racing can be fun with a big group of friends. it seems as though if you have a lot of good friends around youll be set anywhere you go...
