I went here about a month ago on a Saturday. It was pretty empty - at least the part with all the games, it was surprising. We played a couple of overpriced games & won a real and a stuffed goldfish. I had fun and ate some weird sandwich there that was actually good. I just was not thrilled with the place, expected it to be more lively and the staff to be more friendly.

Negative 5 stars if I could! Slide is obnoxiously lame and its going to catch up with them at some point over their gender discrimination at the door. The doormen here give bouncers a bad name for sure... And while this venue makes a ton of money because of the location and the ridiculous hype that surrounds it - the way that they treat people on an everyday basis is quite the joke!!! Except discrimination towards either gender is never a laughing matter, is it?

The only time I've seen this place packed was when Kiefer Sutherland was there promoting his band. (I was in his way, he stared me down, and I hopped out of Jack Bauer's path lest he torture me for information.) It's a shame really, because a good-sized crowd is the only thing missing in this place. I never got to see the pre-renovation Bruno's (apparently, there was a cool aquarium), but the place looks swank enough without overdoing it for a place on Mission St. It's the kind of place an old-school 007 would be right at home in. Plenty of interesting drink varieties and late night sliders too (last I checked.) One drawback is that some of the decor (murals/bar in particular) look almost exactly like what you'd see at Harry's Bar. It would have been better if they just did their own thing. I know it's a little blasphemous to resurrect a city landmark under new management, but that's no reason not to enjoy this place. Next time your party gets to Medjool late on a saturday and realizes it was a mistake, walk the two extra blocks here.
