by Markita Cubbage on Fun little lounge/club in the heart of San Francisco. The concept of Slide is the Speakeasy - those places during prohibition that illegally sold alcohol. When you're down in the club, there are three screens that simulate windows to the street above. That way you can always see when the authorities might be bearing down on you. I also find it interesting that the founder/owner of Slide is the guy who founded Friendster. That's right. You all remember Friendster right? On a similar note, the club is featured in the upcoming film, "The Social Network" (where Zuckerberg has a meeting with Timberlake's character). Anyway, how about some actual reviewing? I enjoyed my night here. We got there a little early (9:30pm), but by about 10:30, it was pretty happening. There's an adequate sized dance floor for the crowd that Slide generates. The music was your typical mix of techno and recognizable tunes. The drink prices are on par with other similar places (i.e. expensive). Oh. Did I mention that there's a freakin' slide that takes you from the entrance into the club below? I think it only opens around 10:30. They have to have an attendant at the top and bottom to make sure the slide exit is clear. I'd say Slide is a pretty good place to spend a night in the city. The decor is nice and unique, and it's a pretty fun crowd. And it has a slide!
by Ricky V. on Adrien, Mysterious D, Smash Up Derby, John John, are the Best performers at this spectacular venue and bring in Hot Talent regularly. The dance floors are bumping, the crowds are hot, the mix is great, always a sexy, wild, and hopefully inebriated time to be had. Get their fashionably and stay late. Good for large groups of fantastic people.
by Glendora Munari on Ah, The Varsity! How many times did I eat your nekked steaks when I was a lad? Now that I'm a wise old man, I eat the chili steak instead. But I still get my o-rings and fried apple pies. It's full of grease, and eat meal will take a month off your life, but there's nothing like it. Atlanta wouldn't be the same without The Varsity. Whadda'll ya have?
