Cons: the attitude of the hosts (we actually watched one of them seat her friends before us even though they came after us and didn't have a resrevation), the 30 minutes they had us wait even though we had a reservation, the typical LA "i'm better than you" attitude of most of their customers. yeahh I wasn't crazy about the vibe. Pros: really great food. I've tried several dishes and have fallen in love with most. extensive wine menu. the way you can see the kitchen in action while dining. the interior design.

The Du Nord gets that things are best when they are simple: Charming interior - check Great bands you've never heard of (and some you have!) - check Cool bartenders - check Reasonable staff - check Decent drink prices and generous pours - check For the city the parking is pretty okay, but could still be better. Because of that and the suicidal layout of the stairs and lack of a bright white strip or something to let you know where the ground is, I have to knock one teeny tiny little star off. But in general, the Du Nord gets everything right. If you feel like seeing music but don't have any ideas in mind, the Du Nord is a perfect place to just drop in and check out what's going on. And if you are digging the band playing, there is no better place to enjoy music in the city.

Generally I can look past a bad layout and design if the crowd/vibe of a place is fun. Maybe it was an off night, but when I went to Suede I was very disappointed. The crowd was just...sort of lame. That meant I had to focus more on my surroundings. The interior of Suede is poorly designed. Gross guys, a weak cocktail and being bitched at by some random woman made my night at Suede sh*tty. Do yourself a favor...next time you're wanting a night out on the town, choose a different club. There is no reason to choose Suede over all the other great places out there.
