=Medjool After Hours= If you enjoy Mediterranean music and Pitbull you will like this place. The DJ pretty much played the entire Pitbull album mixed with some Mediterranean music that we were all like "wtf is this garbage". We found more people sitting than dancing and the girls were so bored of the Mediterranean music they passed out on the couches. Don't get me wrong, the DJ did have his moments but only a few. We headed up the rooftop area but as soon as the elevator doors opened it was so freakin' cold and windy we just headed back down. At least we didn't pay to get in. Stiff drinks made the place more enjoyable especially when you're doing the light bulb dance. Maybe we came on an off night? Who knows but I doubt we'll return to find out. *2.5 stars

This place is ridiculously DARK!! i understand that night clubs are supposed to be dimly lit in order to create a certain ambiance, but my goodness, I felt like I was in a black hole! I came here with a few friends on a Saturday and although the girls got in for free courtesy of Mitch, the boys had to pay $20. In Hollywood, $20 seems to be the going rate so it seemed fair. But keep reading... They have the absolute, most awful, rudest bar I have ever been too. The bartender was a complete idiot and there was practically no liquor in our drinks. And at $14 per vodka tonic in a plastic cup with no lime and no vodka...you have got to be kidding me!! The first hour we were there, I felt like I was in the 8th grade all over again. With the DJ playing songs like Montell Jordan's "This is How We Do It," memories of awkward grade school chaperoned dances came back to mind. I love that song, but for the rest of the hour, songs like "Hot in Here" by Nelly were played and I was thinking....is it 90s night? I expected some newer music at the least. And not to forget, from 12-close, all they played was techno. Ok, last I checked I was not at a rave. Don't get me wrong, I love house and practically all types of music, but I just felt as if I couldn't dance to anything they were playing...and neither could the terrible excuse for go go girls on each side of the DJ. However, there was this awesome painting of Gandhi on the wall...but I did feel like it was inappropriately placed because as far as I remember, Gandhi doesn't go clubbing. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THE VANGUARD. THANKS FOR WASTING MY SATURDAY NIGHT.

I am crazy for Loca Luna. My friend took a job here as a bartender, so I went for the first time last weekend. The interior is flashy and vibrant, and the crowd loves to dance. The Latin culture of dancing and drinking is highly contagious. I went after dinner, but according to my friend the kitchen is clean and the food is very tasty. It's certainly fun for late night cervezas :)
