Alright, there are dives and then there's this place.  It's a strip club, it's a dance bar, it's not a dive bar.  It's a bad shade of vomit green of all those things.  The women taking their clothes off should not be taking their clothes off, in fact I barely wanted to see them with their clothes on.  Cans of beer and an ATM that charges 10%, not a specific fee, but 10% of whatever you take out.  Cash only.  The floors were stickier than an old movie theater and wood paneled walls stunk of cigarette smoke and bad perfume.  Yeah it worth walking through because there aren't many places on earth like it, but it's probably not worth more than 30 minutes of your time.

Sutra Lounge is hardly a lounge with the DJ bouncing tunes that gets the crowd grooving till closing and its time to hit up the Waffle House. It is best on Friday nights, and you avoid cover if you get in before midnight. The bar is full of hot bartenders and the dance floor is just the right size to feel crowded but not overwhelmed. The outside porch is sure to be full of sweat filled midtown 20-somthings taking a breather from the dance floor. The bartenders are amazingly fast at mixing drinks, and I suggest you try a pineapple upside down cake shot (even my guy friends will admit to liking it). The DJ plays a mix of hip-hop, rap, and ethnic mixes and never misses a beat. Most everyone who comes to Sutra is there to dance. Show up with a bunch of friends, take a round of shots or two, and dance till closing.

Does anybody else like those dancing Mexican doll guys above the bar?  Does anybody else want to be one of those Mexican doll guys?  I do I do!  Ambiance, Ambiance, Ambiance.  Day of the dead, Mexicano style.  This place has STYLYING DECOR.  I come here to stare at the Mexican dancing dolls above the bar.  Did I mention the ghostly Mexican dancing dolls?  Yeah.  They're above the bar.  Moving around in a sick Mexican doll transe.  And they're dancing.  In slo mo.  Those Mexican doll dancing machines.  Hovering around with weird motions above the bar at Velvet Margarita.  Will someone please buy the Mexican doll guy a drink already?  He's been up there patiently waiting in his afterllife for SOMEONE to notice him.  Well good thing I notice.  I can only enjoy my drink while gazing up at the Mexican dancing machine doll guy.  Hey, I know I'm weird, it's ok.  :)
